The President of the Chemical Society of Japan expresses sorrow for the victims of the Eastern Japan Earthquake and extends heartfelt sympathy towards those affected by the tragedy.
We at CSJ intend to the limit of our ability support a rapid reconstruction of the areas damaged by what may be called the worst earthquake in the history of our country. We pray for a speedy return to secure, normal life.
Fortunately, we have not received unfortunate news of any of our members, however we extend our sincere sympathy to those who have suffered both physically and emotionally in this tragedy. We ask that CSJ members throughout the country provide to the best of their ability support from all levels in solidarity to overcome this unprecedented crisis.
The Chemical Society of Japan, as a world leading academic society employing specialists from nearly every field, is resolved to extend the intellect and energy of its members towards recovery from this great disaster and towards rebuilding a strong nation.
